RA-Rheumatoid Arthritis-I Would If I Could

woman-1302674_640

If I could remove this disease
I would do it a breeze
If I could take back my life
I would gladly let go of this strife
I would wipe away RA
The disease that hurts me every day
I would take back my life as I knew it
Full of spunk, laughter and fit
No more daily fatigue, sadness and pain
Nor fear of the cold, damp or rain
I would be on the go without fear
Never wondering if a chair or bench was near
If I could wipe out being chronic
I would without another pill, shot, infusion or any kind of tonic
If I could end all of the painful years
It would stop the tears and the constant fears
I would chase away chronic everything
And a calmer, simpler, pain-free life I would definitely bring!
Be Blessed.

Being sick with Rheumatoid Arthritis, our ultimate goal is to feel the best that we can. Depending on our Rheumatologist and other doctors is an important part of our care but what happens when things just don’t seem to be working out with your doctor.  Do you find yourself struggling with whether to find new one or do you stick it out for reasons that you also struggle with.  This dilemma can only add additional stress to our already stressful life.

RA-Rheumatoid Arthritis-What It Really It-The Real Truth

RA and the family fit
Know Us

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder that affects the joints including those in the hands and feet.  It is an auto immune disease in which the body’s immune system which normally protect its health by attacking foreign substances like bacteria and viruses mistakenly attacks the joints.  This creates inflammation that causes the tissue to thicken resulting in swelling and pain around those joints.  Most commonly affected are hands, feet, wrists, elbows, knees and ankles.  RA can also affect the body’s cardiovascular or respiratory system which is called a systemic disease.  Systemic means the entire body which can be deadly.  We as warriors believe it should be called Rheumatoid Disease to cut down on the confusion. RA-Rheumatoid Arthritis

I have a chronic disease I can’t control
I am forced to fill this horrible roll
I hurt, I cry and sadly have to go along
It is not my fault, I did nothing wrong
The blame I feel is so unfair
It seems no one understands or maybe just don’t care
The guilt just kills me day after day
It weighs me down more than I can ever say
The pain is not fake, my life it can steal
This disease is unimaginable, makes life feel so surreal
Yet I go on because I have no choice
I yell out loud but no one hears my voice
As I desperately try hard to explain
How much this disease causes physical and emotional pain
Yet my heart hurt and my eyes show what I’m going through
With this disease that’s hurting me and you
You see RA does not discriminate and has no shame
It is not me that’s wrong but RA that’s to blame
So as I look for understanding to help ease my way
Say that you’re with me and I hope you mean what you say!
For the many, many warriors of Rheumatoid Arthritis, I understand.
Be Blessed.

Having Rheumatoid Arthritis-I Am Not My Disease

woman-1006102_640

So you have Rheumatoid Arthritis and your life has changed forever and so has everyone around you.  Their feelings for you have changed, the way they look at you has changed and the way they treat you has changed.  Most of these changes haven’t been for the best and you’re wondering what have you done wrong.  All that you’ve done is gotten a disease that you didn’t ask for.  You are not responsible for the changes that are made in your life, Rheumatoid Arthritis is.  What they don’t seem to understand, “you’re not your disease”, you have a disease.  No one sets out to become ill with a chronic disease that will change them forever but it has happened and you’re suffering the consequences in ways you never knew possible. RA-Rheumatoid Arthritis Road To Loneliness

sad-silhouette-1429626-639x930

One thing I realize after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, it is a very lonely disease.  So many of the people in your life seem to disappear over time.  The ones that offer their dying support and seem to understand what you’re going through don’t really understand at all and they leave one by one time and time again. I Have Rheumatoid Arthritis So What Now

crocus-280276_640

Finally being diagnosed was a very painful reality but I had no idea what it all meant really.  I had no clue what Rheumatoid Arthritis was and like so many thought is was arthritis at first.  Silly me, was I in for a learning experience.  The doctor did his best to explain it but that didn’t go very well because there’s too much to know and I actually had to feel my way through things for myself.  My doctor is a good doctor, I’m still with him today so he’s been there through the long hall.
